Melatonin is a substance produced by the pineal gland located in the base of the brain. Melatonin is found in plant foods, but much less than in animal foods.

melatonin
Scientific and clinical studies have shown that the synthesis and secretion of Melatonin depend on the illumination – the high light excess inhibits its formation, and the light reduction – increases it. 70% of the daily production of Melatonin is calculated for a person at night. Melatonin secretion is in the contact interaction with the circadian rhythm, which determines the rhythm of gonadotropic effects and a sexual function, as well as the stabilization of cumulative shifts in the intensity of metabolism and energy due to the changes in the environmental illumination. This effect includes the changes in the organs of reproduction, body weight, mental behavior and manners.

Melatonin is a solid, absorbing or dissolving fat, and a water-insoluble substance, which is a powerful natural antioxidant. Synthesizing with it, the organism, is protected from the high excessive formation of free radicals – metabolic products that cause rapid aging and cancer.

Melatonin can also exist in a synthetic form, which is used as an additive, which has mixed hypnotic and antioxidant effects. This becomes relevant with the age of the person, when the activity of the glands of internal secretion of the body fades.

Indication
The drug is indicated to the patients, suffering from: insomnia, sleep disorder, the onset of sleep (delayed sleep phase syndrome). It is also prescribed for the regulation of the biological cycle of “sleep-awakening” (especially with frequent and rapid changes of several time zones), and as an antioxidant, protecting cells from the harmful effects of free radicals. The drug has a stimulating effect on the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which has antioxidant properties. It stimulates the immune system, stabilizes blood pressure and regulates blood cholesterol level. The drug positively affects the premenstrual state. It helps to prevent neoplastic diseases and can also be used as prevention for people over 40 years old.

Side Effects
In rare cases, when the patient’s organism had a high interaction with Melatonin, the following side effects were observed: discomfort in the stomach, “severe head”, headache, depression and anxiety. It is necessary to inform your doctor about all the side effects, including those, which are not listed in the leaflet.

Melatonin and Weed
People who have used melatonin with weed together tend to have more lucid or vivid dreams. Melatonin helps to create a better high when used with weed.

When one smokes about 20 minutes after taking melatonin, it is easier to feel positive, also is easier to sleep.

Nevertheless, your body might start to feel too sluggish if the marijuana is not taken in enough time after the melatonin is taken. The body will start to wear out after the two are combined, thus making it easier for your dreams to become stronger.
